Florida's private passenger train service plans to add stop between South Florida and Orlando

Officials with Florida’s high speed passenger train service say that they plan to add a stop somewhere along the newly-opened extension between South Florida and Orlando ORLANDO, Fla. -- Officials with Florida's high speed passenger train service said Thursday that they plan to add a stop somewhere along the newly-opened extension between South Florida and Orlando. Brightline officials said they were soliciting site proposals for a station along Florida's Treasure Coast in Martin or St. Lucie counties. The proposed stop would open the train service to an area of Florida that is less densely populated and hosts fewer tourists than South Florida and the Orlando area. “Expanding Brightline into the Treasure Coast region will make Brightline one of the most accessible forms of transportation in Florida, giving access to nearly half of the state’s residents," said Michael Reininger, Brightline's CEO. Brightline opened its extension connecting Miami and Orlando last month.

US government estimates economy grew last quarter at a 2.1% rate, unchanged from previous projection

The second-quarter expansion of the nation's gross domestic product — its total output of goods and services — marked a modest deceleration from the economy's 2.2% annual growth from January through March. Pramac Ducati rider Martin eclipsed his own benchmark set in qualifying at the same track last year as he demolished the field with a time of 1m27.246s at the end of second qualifying. That was a massive 0.416 seconds ahead of nearest rival and Friday pacesetter Brad Binder on the KTM, who along with third-placed Francesco Bagnaia was also within last year's pole time. Factory Ducati man Bagnaia had to fight his way out of Q1 for the second weekend in a row, but unlike last weekend in Indonesia, he successfully booked one of the two slots in the pole shootout. However, the championship leader still found himself outpaced by his nearest title rival Martin to the tune of 0.468s. Aleix Espargaro was the lead Aprilia rider in fourth ahead of two more satellite Ducati riders, Martin's Pramac team-mate Johann Zarco and the Gresini machine of Fabio Di Giannantonio. Honda's Marc Marquez joined Bagnaia in advancing through to Q2, taking advantage
