Liverpool provide update on Anfield Road stand construction

Liverpool have provided fans with an update on the Anfield Road stand redevelopment after the construction company attached to the project went into administration. Work on the Anfield Road stand has been ongoing since 2021, with the capacity of the stand set to increase by 7,000 - taking the total capacity of Anfield to 61,000. Delays in construction over the summer, however, have meant that the stand was not ready to be fully opened ahead of the club's first home game of the 2023/24 season and was set to operate at a reduced capacity this weekend. Now, however, the club may be forced to operate the stadium at a reduced capacity for even longer after the Buckingham Group, the company contracted to work on the Anfield Road stand , announced their intentions to appoint administrators. This news has led to construction workers being pulled from the site on Thursday morning, and there is no clarity on when workers will return. Towards the end of the first half, Saka's ankle buckled under a sliding challenge from a Maltese defender. He received treatment for several minutes before limping back on. Saka appeared to be moving with more freedom in stoppage time as he forced goalkeeper Henry Bonello into a low save with a...
