Liverpool provide update on Anfield Road stand construction
Liverpool have provided fans with an update on the Anfield Road stand redevelopment after the construction company attached to the project went into administration. Work on the Anfield Road stand has been ongoing since 2021, with the capacity of the stand set to increase by 7,000 - taking the total capacity of Anfield to 61,000. Delays in construction over the summer, however, have meant that the stand was not ready to be fully opened ahead of the club's first home game of the 2023/24 season and was set to operate at a reduced capacity this weekend. Now, however, the club may be forced to operate the stadium at a reduced capacity for even longer after the Buckingham Group, the company contracted to work on the Anfield Road stand , announced their intentions to appoint administrators.
