Who is Kyle Shanahan, the 49ers’ head coach? Coaching record and Super Bowl appearances

As one of the best coaches in the NFL today, the Niners’ man in charge has kept the team at the top of the pile for a few seasons now. The question is, just who is the Niners’ tactician and what has he achieved in his career so far? Kyle Shanahan’s journey to the top. Given that his father, Mike Shanahan, was a two-time winning Super Bowl head coach, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Kyle Shanahan is one of the NFL’s best today, and that’s not the only romantic aspect of Shanahan’s rise to the top either. Consider for a moment that in his first season as the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, the 44-year-old posted a 0-9 record, which was promptly followed by an 8-0 just a year later. Indeed, he became just the third coach in NFL history to spearhead such an instantaneous turnaround. Here and now, he stands just one win away from a Super Bowl title and to add a piece of poetic justice, one win away from righting the wrong of the 49ers Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs back in 202...

Nice's record transfers under INEOS ownership

Image
While he was still CEO of Nice, Sir Jim Ratcliffe's brother Bob outlined what makes "an INEOS player". "People who can work hard for the team, track back, those sorts of characteristics," the younger Ratcliffe vaguely explained following INEOS's takeover of the French club in 2019. "It is important to put on attractive Football , where you see something special." These bland platitudes, combined with a flood of sporting directors with wildly contrasting backgrounds, have concocted a confused transfer strategy for the Ligue 1 side owned by Manchester United's new minority shareholder. Here's a look at the club's biggest buys under INEOS and Ratcliffe and how they have fared. 10. Thiago Silva sets new Chelsea record with Man City goal

Image
Thiago Silva is the brand new owner of one of Chelsea's all-time records following his goal in the club's 4-4 draw with Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday. The Brazilian centre-back cancelled out Erling Haaland's opening goal in the first half, with the lead swinging back and forth until Cole Palmer scored a 94th minute penalty against his former club to ensure that the points would be shared at the end of a pulsating contest. Silva joined Chelsea in 2020 shortly before turning 36 but has clocked up more than 120 appearances in just over three years at Stamford Bridge since. His age is why Sunday's goal against Manchester City was so significant. At 39 years, one month and 21 days, Silva is now the oldest player ever to score for Chelsea. It broke a record that had stood for 76 years, dating back to 1947 when former England international Dick Spence found the net aged 38. A federal judge has handed Microsoft a major victory by declining to block its looming $69 billion takeover of video game company Activision Blizzard A federal judge has handed Microsoft a major victory by declining to block its looming $69 billion takeover of video Game company Activision Blizzard. Regulators sought to ax the deal saying it will hurt com Pet ition. U.S. District Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley said in a ruling that the merger deserved scrutiny, noting it could be the largest in the history of the tech industry. But federal regulators were unable to show how it would cause serious harm and wouldn't likely prevail if they took it to a full trial, she wrote. The Federal Trade Commission, which enforces antitrust laws, “has not raised serious questions regarding whether the proposed merger is likely to substantially lessen competition” between video game consoles or in the growing markets for monthly game subscriptions or cloud-based gaming, Corley said.
